Hello! I'm Carla Kennedy, and I am thrilled to be the Middle School Math and Algebra teacher at Corpus Christi Catholic School.
With a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education and a middle school math endorsement from Indiana State University (2005), I began my teaching journey in the Vigo County School Corporation, where I taught middle school mathematics until 2013. Along the way, I earned my Master’s degree in Curriculum and Instruction in 2010.
In 2013, my husband and I relocated to the Houston area. I spent a year at Conroe ISD before making the switch to Catholic education, serving as the middle school math teacher at St. Peter the Apostle. I joined the Corpus Christi family in 2015 and had the opportunity to teach College Algebra at the School of Automotive Machinist from 2014 to 2017. After a brief stint at St. Laurence Catholic School, I realized how much I missed the vibrant Corpus Christi community, and I’m grateful to have returned!
Outside of the classroom, my husband and I have raised three wonderful sons and enjoy spending time with our two granddaughters and grandson, most of whom live in Indiana. I love the beach—though I don’t get there as often as I’d like—and nothing beats cruising around in my Jeep with the top down and the wind in my hair. If I can do that at the beach, it’s truly a perfect day!
I look forward to an exciting year of learning and growth in math with my students!
