Karina Cepeda

Kindergarten Teacher

My name is Karina Cepeda. I am the Kindergarten teacher here at Corpus Christi. I am very fortunate to be a Colt

I was born in San Luis Potosí, Mexico-but was raised here in Houston. I have a four-year-old daughter. I am family centered and close to my three younger brothers and my parents. 

I graduated from the University of St. Thomas in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in Education. In 2020 I obtained my Master's in Instructional Technology from St. Thomas. I love working with technology to discovery ways to incorporate into my classroom daily. 

I believe that technology integration should be meaningful and add value to the learning taking place in the classroom. My goal is to help my first graders feel comfortable with technology and use it as a learning tool. 

Before working at Corpus, I worked for a local tutoring company as a coordinator for study skills programs for private schools. I also worked as an after-school assistant for Duchesne Academy during the school years leading up to my college graduation. During my undergrad field experience, I worked for Katy ISD. After St. Thomas, I was a Pre-K3 teacher at The Regis School. During the summers I continue to work at Duchesne Academy as a summer camp teacher. 

My experience within private schools led me to truly value a God centered and faith-filled environment.Additionally, my three younger brothers started attending private Catholic school and it was through their experience that I knew that I wanted to be a Catholic school teacher.  

I feel very fortunate and blessed to be here and share not only my knowledge, but my faith with the scholars.
